What is Eternallee?

Eternallee lets you create permanent proof of a moment, thought, announcement, achievement or memory that really matters to you. Instead of storing the readable text itself on-chain, Eternallee creates a unique SHA-256 hash (a digital fingerprint) of your Eternal and records that fingerprint on a public blockchain (currently Bitcoin SV).

What is a hash or digital fingerprint?

A hash is a unique cryptographic fingerprint created from your story. It is a unique string of 64 characters. Even the smallest change in your Eternal creates a completely different hash.

Think of it like:

• your story = the original content,
• the hash = its unique digital fingerprint.

The hash helps prove that your story existed at a certain moment in time.

Example:

Eternal:

“I will never forget what you did for me today, Michael.”

SHA-256 hash:

2f584b961fcada1800c5208c0e0b4f6678fd4c1bff205370962082ed21eee623

Eternal:

“I will never forget what you did for me today Michael.” (Comma removed)

SHA-256 hash:

a6856463823d141de8da40120984551d6df7d08aef6d22fb751d80c1d1f8ca60

Even a tiny change, such as removing a comma, creates a completely different SHA-256 hash.

Is my actual Eternal stored on the blockchain?

No. Only the SHA-256 hash (digital fingerprint) of your Eternal is recorded on-chain, not the readable text itself.

The readable version is stored separately by Eternallee to support sharing and verification.

Why use hashes instead of storing the Eternal directly on the blockchain?

Using hashes offers a more privacy-conscious and flexible approach.

It allows you to:

• prove that content existed at a specific time,
• verify authenticity later,
• avoid permanently placing readable personal text directly on a public blockchain.

What can I use Eternallee for?

Can I verify an Eternal later?

Yes.

If you still have the original text, the same SHA-256 hash can be recreated at any time. If the recreated hash matches the one recorded on-chain, it confirms the content has not changed.

Are Eternals shareable?

Yes.

Eternals are currently shareable by default through a unique link generated by Eternallee. Anyone with access to that link may be able to view the shared Eternal.

Can an Eternal be changed or deleted?

The hash on the blockchain cannot be changed or removed once recorded. However, because only the hash is stored on-chain, the readable text itself is not permanently written to the blockchain.

Is a hash reversible?

No.

A SHA-256 hash cannot realistically be reversed back into the original Eternal. It functions as a one-way cryptographic fingerprint. However, if the original text is very short, common, or easily guessed, someone could potentially test likely phrases and compare their hashes. Longer and more unique messages generally provide greater privacy.

Is Eternallee a legal notary service?

No.

Eternallee is a technology platform for timestamping and verification. It does not provide legal advice, legal certification, or notarial services. The legal significance of any record depends on the specific situation and jurisdiction.

Which blockchain does Eternallee use?

Eternallee currently records hashes on the Bitcoin SV blockchain.

Technology choices may evolve over time, but the goal remains the same: creating durable, verifiable stories anchored to a public blockchain.

How can I create or verify a SHA-256 hash myself?

There are many publicly available SHA-256 tools online that allow you to create or verify hashes independently.

Should I include sensitive personal information?

We recommend thinking carefully before sharing highly sensitive personal information online.

Eternallee records only a SHA-256 hash on-chain, not the readable text itself. However, shared Eternals may still be visible to others if the share link is accessed. When in doubt, keep things minimal and intentional.

Do I need technical knowledge to use Eternallee?

No.

Eternallee is designed to make blockchain-based verification accessible without requiring blockchain or cryptography knowledge. You simply create an Eternal, and the platform handles the hashing and blockchain recording process for you.
